What is Diabetes Mellitus

Classification of Diabetes Mellitus

A condition that results from deficiency or absence of insulin in the blood. It is common for both adults and children to develop this stage of diabetes. Some auto-immune diseases may cause type 1 diabetes. The body’s immune system attacking its organs is generally termed an auto-immune condition.

2. Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Gestational diabetes develops with high glucose levels in the blood during pregnancy. It can create health complications for both mother and the child. But it usually disappears after pregnancy. The risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the future is very high for both mother and child.
